Be a volunteer! We need volunteers for many aspects of our work. Only a few hours every month or so will make all the difference. Gardening volunteers.
The horticultural restoration so far has been done by volunteers, aided by members of the Probation Service's Community Service Programme. In the seven years since work started, most of the gardens have been
cleared of scrub and rubbish, lawns have been sown and crops of vegetables have been taken. We are now starting the main period of restoration. We need volunteers to help clear the final areas,
plant, and help make new paths. This volunteer activity is a crucial part of the partnerhsip funding needed to complete the project. Every hour spent helps us to claim additional grants. We generally meet
on every Saturday morning at 10.30, and most Wednesdays also at 10.30. Volunteers can now work under the direction of our Head Gardener at any time. Open Day volunteers. We need people to help us
greet our visitors, serve teas and sell plants and vegetables. Education volunteers. We need people to help both with school visits and our general activities. Administration.
We need lots of help with organising fund-raising events, distributing publicity and helping with mailings. Our volunteers are able to attend special events and trips, and there is a popular annual
autumn barbecue. All new volunteers are welcome. If you would like to volunteer, please contact info@hillclosegardens.warwick.uk.com |
